WAX RECOMENDATIONS FOR:
2007 Tecnica Cup
Boyne Highlands Resort
March 4, 2007
FORECAST (Boyne Highlands Resort)
Saturday March 3:
Mostly cloudy. 70% chance of snow. Low temp 22F (-5.5C). High temp 27F (-3C).
Humidity is expected to be between 65-75%. Wind, 10-13mph out of the NNW.
Sunday March 4:
Mostly cloudy. 30% chance of snow. Low temp 21F (-6C). High temp 28F (-3C).
Humidity is expected to be between 60-70%. Wind, 10-12mph out of the WNW.
SNOW CONDITIONS
The snow should be considered "New Snow" and it will contain a high percentage of moisture because of the recent rain/ice/snow mix. This new snow is also going to be relatively abrasive due to the Machine grooming and the mix of ice/snow that hit us on Thursday and expected on Friday. These conditions along with the high winds create pretty sharp snow crystals.

WAXING CONSIDERATIONS
1. BASE PREPARATION - Clean bases with Swix Base Prep 88 or CH8 using the “hot scrape” method. Scrape and brush using Swix Coarse Bronze Brush (T0158) or Swix Fine Steel Brush (T0192). This is very important to “open” up the base to receive race wax. Apply one layer of new Swix MB77 base conditioning wax. Scrape and brush with Swix Fine Steel Brush (T0192) or Medium Bronze Brush (T0162).
2. AFTER FINAL RACE WAX APPLICATION –Scrape base thoroughly. Do not leave excess was on the surface of the ski base.
*STRUCTURE / BASE GRINDING – If you plan on having your race ski ground before the finals have the shop use a medium broken linear racing grind (“Tiger Stripe”). AND, repeat step #1 (above) several times before applying the final race wax.
Good Luck!
